CCEE Birds and Music

Aaaaaahhhh!  It felt so good to get back to my stamp room.  I'm still in physical therapy for my shoulder and praying that I won't need to have another surgery to manipulate my frozen shoulder.   I'm thankful at least that I can get back to cranking my Big Shot and pushing down on my punches!

Sabrina is the September CCEE challenge hostess. Her first challenge this month is to create a card using birds and music. We didn't even have to use music stamps or paper; we could be inspired by a song. One of my all-time favorite songs is Over the Rainbow. I love the lyrics and the beautiful melody.

I first stamped the Wildflower background image onto white card stock with Versamark.  I then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Using the arc of a coffee filter, I sponged the various colors of my rainbow.  Next, I used an oval Nestability to create my frame out of this rainbow panel.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and adhered it to the back of my oval panel.   I dry embossed my bluebird with a music embossing folder.  I made my ribbon out of paper.

Please visit our CCEE Stampers blog to see what the others created.  Perhaps you'd like to join us!

Stamps:  Wildflower background and sentiment by Rubbernecker
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Soft Sky, Peach Bellini
Accessories:  Stampin' Up Bird punch; leaf punch, oval Nestability, button die, dimensionals, sponge daubers, coffee filter

I'm so happy for you to see you back in your craft room again, Charlene. And extra happy that you brought a blue bird with a rainbow, because that was my first thought when I was setting the challenge :D. I love the song too, but DH always sings the Eva Cassidy version which I don't like as well - too much of a purist ;-).
I really love your soft sponged rainbow, it's gorgeous.

So beautifully done. When I first saw this card on the blog, I thought of "Somewhere over the rainbow". I like that cute little embossed bird, a great addition to your rainbow.
