Witch You All the Best!

Tosha has another terrific sketch design for the CCEE challenge this week, and we'd love it if you played along!  You can get all the details and see my teammates cool samples here.

For my card, I used this darling witch image from Rubbernecker's Halloween set.  There are some really cute images and sentiments in this set.  I made her cauldron with Stampin' Up's decorative ornament punch with a portion of the top cut off and I added a piece of drippy goo border punch on the top of it, as well as my border under the three designer papers section.  I colored my little witch with Copic markers and added this pom pom ribbon trim.

Isn't she witchin'???

She Certainly Glows!

I was so excited when I saw that Chris Olsen, aka Glowbug on SCS, is our featured stamper today! I love Chris's beautiful work, and I always appreciate how encouraging she is to other stampers.

I chose this beautiful card of Chris's to case. Obviously, I changed the theme by going with a Halloween card in my case of hers:

I had so much fun playing with my new Totally Stampalicious Halloween stamp set that I recently received from Joycelyn and Becky. Have you checked out their cool stamps yet? They are a riot!

The witch, the bg stars, the sentiment and the cauldron are all a part of this cool stamp set. I stamped the sentiment inside the cauldron. I colored everything with Copic markers and dotted her orange dress with black marker.

I used a dauber to apply Pumpkin Pie ink to color my Sugarcane Paper tag embellishment that was part of a package of tags that my good friend StampOwl sent to me earlier this year (thanks, Frances!).

I found this cool Halloween dp at Michael's, and the pretty flowers were a gift from my good buddy, JoJot (thanks, Jo!).

I hope you're having a relaxing Sunday. Hubby and I are off for a little Sunday afternoon jaunt, but I'll be by your blogs as soon as I can!

Hugs,

Stamp Simply #104 - Halloween is Almost Here

Can you believe fall will soon be upon us? We're already seeing the changing of the tree leaves here in Michigan. The summer went by so fast, my head is spinning!

This Friday, Sharon Johnson has challenged her Stamp Simply design team and moi, as her September guest designer, to make a Halloween card or project. I typically do not make Halloween cards, so I thought I'd make some treat bags instead.

These may look like a lot of work, but they aren't! I folded and inked up a baby wipe with a few drops of Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Elegant Eggplant reinkers and "swiped" the wipe across a piece of glossy cardstock. I cut my squares and stamped my silhouette images from Gina K's Spooky Silhouettes. I allowed the black ink to dry before I inserted the cardstock inside the cellophane bags, and then filled the bags with candy corn behind the cardstock. I thought I was being smart putting the cardstock inside the cellophane so I wouldn't have to worry about the cardstock falling off in a trick or treater's Halloween container, but didn't even think about having to photograph reflective cellophane! Yikes! I finally got them positioned just right and raised my camera on my tripod to shoot from an upper angle to avoid some of that glare. Anyway, to finish up my treat bags, I punched black cardstock with the Martha Stewart drippy goo punch (I'm sure that's not the right name for it) and attached corresponding colored cardstock to that and tied off with this cool spider web ribbon I bought last year and never used.

Why not pull out your Halloween supplies and play along with us? If you upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers, be sure to use keyword ssnotime104. Also, if you'd like to see the fabulous Halloween creations of Sharon's design team, here are the links:
