Halloween or Christmas???

Happy Halloween to all you ghouls and goblins! I don't have a Halloween card for today's post because I'm more into getting my Christmas cards made for this year.  However, I do have to share this adorable photo my friend sent to me of her cute little dog in his Halloween costume.  It just made me smile!

Now, onto my card.  I just got this Ornament Keepsakes bundle from a recent Stampin' Up workshop I attended. I've been wanting these stamps and coordinating framelits, and the deal was too good to pass up because you also get the Festive Paper Piecing Pack and Candlelight Christmas dp! (Note:  I didn't use the Candelight Christmas dp on my design today; this is Stampin' Up designer paper from last year, I believe.)  Yaaaay!!!

Yesterday's color challenge on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) is one of my favorite combos and so perfect for Christmas cards: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla.  I used my Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers to color directly onto the ornament stamp.  I colored it three times and stacked the three ornaments together with dimensionals.  The sketch design is from SCS's sketch challenge today.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a spooktacular day!

CCEE Tag It

Brenda (aka Benzi) is the CCEE Stampers challenge hostess for October. She gave us an easy challenge this week to use a tag on our card/project.

My mojo has seriously been lacking since my husband's illness.  He is getting better every day, but I still am taking care of most of the daily living activities needed to sustain our home.  Therefore, I haven't had much time to sit down at my stamp table and allow the creative juices to flow.  I really want to get back in the swing of things with my stamping, though, so I wanted to make some kind of card for this week's CCEE Stampers' challenge.  I chose to keep my design very simple this week.

This white fanciful flourish by Cheery Lynn Designs has been languishing on my stamp table for quite some time now begging to be used.  I paired it up with some Old Olive designer paper and Melon Mambo hydrangea punched flowers.  I used a small white tag with the Just-Rite "Thinking of You" stamp from their Just Because Set.  I really like how pretty the Melon Mambo looks with the Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you'd like to see the designs of the other CCEE Stampers', please visit our blog.  Perhaps you'd like to play along with us!

Fall Leaves Resist

I apologize if you've come to my blog and found nothing new here lately. My poor husband has been in the hospital for the past two weeks, and I've been solely focused on his care. Hopefully, the doctors are on the right track with the medical care he needs and he will soon be 100% better!

At the end of September, Sabrina (Cook22 on SCS), was the CCEE Stampers' challenge hostess. Her last challenge of the month was to use any technique we wanted to on our project. I've been wanting to try to the Masking Fluid Resist technique (here's a link to a great tutorial for this technique) for quite some time, so that's the one I chose for my design. I did have my card uploaded to our CCEE Stampers blog, but, again, just didn't have the time to get it uploaded to my blog.

This was my first time using the Masking Fluid; I got a little heavy handed with it in spots, but I still love the results.  I white embossed the "Friend" sentiment.

Here's a complete list of the supplies I used:
Stamps: Leaves, Fall Trilogy by Rubbernecker
Paper: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Really Rust, Whisper White
Ink: River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard
Accessories: Masking Fluid, White embossing powder, Versamark, heat tool, sponge daubers, green brad, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Memory Box Maple Leaf Die

It's a beautiful Fall day here, and I hope it's a beautiful day in your part of the world, too!  Make each moment count.
