Sabrina is the September CCEE challenge hostess. Her first challenge this month is to create a card using birds and music. We didn't even have to use music stamps or paper; we could be inspired by a song. One of my all-time favorite songs is Over the Rainbow. I love the lyrics and the beautiful melody.
I first stamped the Wildflower background image onto white card stock with Versamark. I then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Using the arc of a coffee filter, I sponged the various colors of my rainbow. Next, I used an oval Nestability to create my frame out of this rainbow panel. I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and adhered it to the back of my oval panel. I dry embossed my bluebird with a music embossing folder. I made my ribbon out of paper.
Please visit our CCEE Stampers blog to see what the others created. Perhaps you'd like to join us!

BEAUTIFUL CHARLENE!!~
Glad to have you back, beautiful card
I'm so happy for you to see you back in your craft room again, Charlene. And extra happy that you brought a blue bird with a rainbow, because that was my first thought when I was setting the challenge :D. I love the song too, but DH always sings the Eva Cassidy version which I don't like as well - too much of a purist ;-).
I really love your soft sponged rainbow, it's gorgeous.
I knew your inspiration the moment I saw your card, Charlene. Beautiful work.....welcome back to our fav craft! Good luck with that shoulder!
I love the rainbow effect you achieved on your background. Very pretty.
I'm happy that you're back to doing some stamping, Charlene. Your rainbow bg is awesome and I love that you dry embossed the birdie. Very pretty and cheerful card.
Yummy pastels! Love the embossed music on the birdie!
So beautifully done. When I first saw this card on the blog, I thought of "Somewhere over the rainbow". I like that cute little embossed bird, a great addition to your rainbow.
Charlene,
Oh my gosh, what a pretty card. I really love those soft pastels in your rainbow - and your little bird with the greenery is adorable!!
Absolutely beautiful, Charlene. Your sponged background is breathtaking. So glad your shoulder is doing better.
So nice to see you back Charlene!!! Your rainbow is over the top FABULOUS!! Love it!
Welcome back Charlene. I love the rainbow you created. You card is so soft and pretty. I'll be praying that PT will work and you won't need more surgery.
your rainbow is fabulous, but I esp. love that bird...with the touch of texture you really brought that sweetie to life....it is those wonderful techniques and attention to detail that makes YOU Dirty Bertie
