Star Spinner

I challenged the CCEE Stampers team members to make a card/project based upon the Christmas song "Do You Hear What I Hear?" this week.

I was inspired by the lyrics "a star, a star, dancing in the night with a tail as big as a kite" for my card.  I made it a spinner card so that the star spins (dances) across the card.

I stamped Stampin Up's Scenic Season in a mixture of Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.  I then used a slightly wet watercolor brush dipped in my Always Artichoke reinker to add some further shading to the trees.  I used a Tim Holtz blending tool to create my night sky, using Broken China, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, and black inks.  The stars are from Stampin' Up's Background Basics stamped in craft white.  The white ink faded quite a bit, so I touched up my stars with white acrylic paint.

We'd love it if you played along with us in this challenge.  You can get all the challenge details and see the cards my friends Shirley, Joanne, Cindy, Tosh, and Frances made on our CCEE Stampers blog.

How delightful and enchanting!! I think this would be lovely even not as a spinner, but that adds a whole extra wow. Hmm, can I possibly stop paving the road to hell with good intentions and actually play along this week - it's a cool challenge.

Charlene, your night sky scene is so true in color, it reminds me of a sky at dusk in the mountains! What a cool idea to incorporate a spinner...very wonderful card!!
