CCEE Catchy Featured Stamper Name - Grandma Overboard

If you're a follower of the CCEE challenges, you already know that Cindy Motherway has been our August hostess. She's been following a theme based on the popular 60's song The Birds & The Bees.

Let me tell ya about the Birds and the Bees
And the Flowers and the Trees
And the Moon Up Above
And a Name I Just Love!

As you can see, Cindy has used some artist license to change the last line of the song so that we can do one of our favorite challenges each month: the CNFS (Catchy Name Featured Stamper) where we select someone who has a catchy user name over on Splitcoaststampers (SCS). This month, Cindy chose fellow SCSer Grandma Overboard also known as Donna.

The requirements for our card is that it has to have a Grandma Overboard on it. She could have fallen out of a boat, off the stage, out of the tree, off of a flower, into the pool, off our card, into an oval, off of a building, off of a horse, out of a sleigh, out of an airplane, well, you get the picture, I'm sure with Cindy's ever over-active imagination. Hee-hee! She just has to be overboard!!

Meet Grandma Mertz Overboard. Her real name is Marilyn, but her good friends call her by her nickname, Mertz. Mertz loves da frosting and she loves da purple! She got a little carried away (also known as going overboard) with the frosting. She didn't just stick her little pinky in to sample the frosting, she dipped BOTH hands into it!!

And because I'm sure Cindy will accuse me of not using a grandmotherly image on my card, here's a close up of Grandma Mertz's hair (she never said the image had to be human):

The darling purple gingham dp, gingham ribbon, purple crystals, and purple heart button were gifted to me by my sweet friend, Dawn (Flowergal36), who was our CNFS when I hosted the challenge. Dawn knows I love purple and sent me an awesome goodie package shortly thereafter. Thanks, again, Dawn!

I hope you can play along with us this week. You can check out the details on our CCEE blog and you can also see the cards my friends made!

Grandma Mouse!! Smart thinking, that. She needs a purple rinse in those curls to blend into the cupcake frosting better, LOL. What a neat idea with the picket fence border too.

Hey Charlene, you got that image just right, except for the gray hair, but I do go overboard with the frosting thing. But what an adorable card! I've watched you blossom into an awesome stamper over the last few years and I can see you love what you do. Thanks for the sweet:) card!

You must have 42,000 pounds of purple stamping stuff! Snort! Okay, well, I was gonna give you some grieve but then Hoots make me read the definition of overboard! So, Mertz loves frosting! I guess if I was gonna go overboard in something it might as well be frosting! It's hard to believe that people go overboard with *stuff*! Giggle!

This is precious....love it Bertie!

Actually, I think the sweet little mousie is sitting on grandma's purple head that is peeking up over the cupcake! This is too cute, Charlene! Love all the purple! Wonderful coloring and details of this purple cutie!

I have nominated you for the Kreatin Blogger Award. If you would like to post it on your blog, come and pick it up at:http://franciesfancy.blogspot.com/
