As much as I've tried, I am a failure when it comes to using the brayer to make any kind of bg, so I used my sponge daubers to adhere the various shades of blue and gray for my snowy night sky. I used Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Brilliant Blue, Night of Navy, Going Gray and Basic Gray. I used my white gel pen to create the falling snow. I used MS silver glitter on the snowy ground and wish I would've used dazzling diamonds instead, but this'll have to do.

ReplyDeleteNow, I wouldn't mind not being able to brayer if I could sponge like this, but I don't do well with either. I love this crisp winter night with the snow sparkling in the moonlight and that gorgeous ribbon.
Well, this was not a failure...I have a hard time believing you fail at anything! This is very nicely done! Love the soft colors..you are getting such a jump on your Christmas cards!

ReplyDeleteCharlene, I am a long time admirer of certain stampers that do amazing sunsets, moonlit scenes, and what not with the brayer...and I am with you, it is hard!
ReplyDeleteI even looked into a brayer class with zindorph, but the one in Boulder was already filled!! So I may have to resort to sponging, you make it look so great here, it is soft and realistic looking too!! Love your card, the layout, the colors, and the moon!! Thanks for sharing your stuff!!
